An Important Message from Michael

2006 represented a turning point for all 9-11 Truth Activists in that we saw several high profile “members” of the 9-11 Truth Movement escalate an already established campaign of Infiltration, Dis-Information, Ad-Hominem Attacks on serious researchers and activists, and other forms of Information Sabotage designed to discredit our work and relegate us to the dustbins of history.

As I witnessed the engineered break-up of Scholars for 9-11 Truth among many other COINTELPRO style tactics, I realized that the destruction of our movement from within could no longer be ignored. In February of 2007, I conducted a series of interviews focusing on this topic which included a frank talk with film maker John Albanese. If you haven’t done so already, please take the time to hear this important Special Report. Then watch the trailer for Mr. Albanese’s new film, Disinformation in the Information Age, due out sometime in 2007.

I was not the only one to take on this extremely important topic in an attempt to educate ALL activists on the reality of, and the history of COINTELPRO in the United States. Below is a short list of some who have taken the lead in educating YOU on the destruction occurring within our movement.

1) Philosophy Behind the Project

Whether you choose to believe it or not, events around the attacks of September 11, 2001 are clouded in darkness. Voices that have asked for a deeper and more thorough look into the causes and details of this event have raised many unanswered questions and largely been ignored by the press and dominant thought in the public mind. Yet the questions keep coming through the crevices that are afforded to them at the moment.

Suppose there is some truth to the thought that Government knowingly permitted the attacks to happen and even embellished them in order to achieve what it thought was the highest good of those they represent? If true, then there would be momentous consequences for the acts and directions this country has taken since then. If true, the only way to reset the course, would be to manifest a complete and honest account of what happened. South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation policy is a working model for how this can work.

The “Truth Burn” Project is an attempt to refocus the National gaze on a specific side of this event- the actual theoretical mode scientists and engineers have proposed for what really brought down the world trade towers and building 7. This would be the use of explosives and the steel burning incendiary called “thermate”. Traces of this substance were found at ground zero. (reference current article by physicist Steven Jones) We don’t plan on using explosives but we do plan on using thermate. By using a controlled demolition technique to destroy this artwork, we hope to provoke a wider examination about what really happened that day in September. We also want to demonstrate the speed and destructiveness of the incendiary, in a test use of the method to bolster the controlled demolition theory of a growing body of scientists, engineers and other professionals.

Kevin Barrett: Liberal news media continue to block debate about 9/11 truth

Dear Editor: Last year The Capital Times distinguished itself as the first mainstream U.S. daily to publish not one but two hard-hitting 9/11 truth op-ed columns — both by yours truly.

In one, I asked why the media weren’t covering the dozens of former high-level military, intelligence and administration officials who are charging or implying that 9/11 was an inside job. (See http://patriotsquestion911.com.)

Then, instead of covering these generals, colonels, CIA officers, Bush administration officials and other notables, the media decided to cover a part-time university lecturer — me. I would have thought it more significant that Col. Robert Bowman, a Cal Tech Ph.D., much-decorated fighter pilot and former chief of the Star Wars missile defense program under two presidents, is running for high office on a 9/11 truth platform than that a part-time university lecturer, however charming and articulate, is doing 9/11 activism in his spare time.

Unfortunately, it isn’t just the mainstream media that are censoring the questions raised by the 9/11 truth movement. With a few honorable exceptions, the left and alternative media are complicit in the coverup of blatant, in-your-face high treason and mass murder. Amy Goodman of “Democracy Now” was present for the demolition of World Trade Center Building 7 (Google the video), yet in almost six years she has not breathed a word about WTC-7, the ultimate smoking gun of 9/11.

Matt Rothschild of The Progressive told me in May 2005, just a month after David Griffin’s nationally televised UW-Madison talk, that he had never heard of Building 7. By summer 2006, Rothschild was spouting nonsense in an attempt to debunk 9/11 skeptics, from a knowledge base of near zero.

Allegedly liberal newspapers seem to go out of their way to avoid mentioning the debate on 9/11 that is raging in the U.S. (where a poll showed 36 percent of the population suspects an “inside job”) and around the world.

On June 22 the New York Times ran a laudatory article about Rosie O’Donnell’s new uncensored video blog — without even mentioning the elephant in the living room, Rosie’s outspoken support for 9/11 truth.

Now that Michael Moore has joined O’Donnell in speaking out for 9/11 truth, and Harper’s editor Lewis Lapham has admitted to reading David Griffin’s “Debunking 9/11 Debunking,” will the media on the left rescind their blackout on our most important national debate since the Civil War?

Even at a time when most Americans have turned against the Iraq War and the president’s approval ratings loiter at sub-Jimmy Carter levels, there remains one strain of anti-Bush fervor that mainstream politicians and pundits won’t touch with a 10-foot pole.

This, of course, is the belief that the administration conspired to topple the World Trade Center on 9-11—or at
least cover up the real story behind its
collapse—in order to sell a new war to the public.

Recently, celebrities like Rosie O’Donnell and Charlie Sheen have picked up the mantle of “9-11 Truth,” as the conspiracy theorists call their movement. To no one’s surprise, the actors’ comments were met with ridicule and derision.

Sherry Clark can relate. When the raven-haired, Delaware, Ohio-born mother of two—a self-described Republican “trophy wife” who voted for George W. Bush twice—was converted to the cause last year, she was told by friends and relatives to seek mental help. The Presbyterian church she helped create, she said, suddenly wanted nothing to do with her or her activities. And she’s currently divorcing her husband, to whom she became an embarrassment and social liability.

“It was quite a painful thing to go through,” Clark said. “We’re called conspiracy nuts.”

Despite her travails, Clark persists in trying to persuade those who doubt her. This Saturday at Studio 35, a group she co-founded, Columbus 9/11 Truth, will present the Truth Film Festival—a slate of five muckraking documentaries that attempt to expose various shady dealings within the highest reaches of media and government, including a couple of films that radically question the accepted explanation for 9-11.

Front Page Coverage of the Vancouver 9/11 Truth Conference

It’s six-o’clock on Friday evening and a slow-moving wave of mostly white men and women aged 18 to 80 flows into the Maritime Labour Centre on Triumph Street for the three-day international 9/11 Truth Conference.

A sense of fellowship permeates the spacious auditorium, approximately the size of two basketball courts. People talk excitedly and settle into rows of temporary seating that surround a lectern next to a large white projection screen, which every speaker will use for slide shows and PowerPoint presentations. Veteran “Truthers” know one another from other Truth conferences or from online chat rooms where the movement thrives.

Conference emcee Kevin Barrett, an American and a former professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, was allegedly canned by the university after going public with his belief that factions in the United States government are responsible for the attacks on 9/11 and the London subway bombings.

A tall gangly man with a greying goatee and glasses, Barrett kicks off the conference with visual red meat-a full-colour Photoshopped image of President George W. Bush, Vice-President Dick Cheney and former defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld cackling hysterically in front of a photo of the smoking World Trade Center towers shortly before they collapsed. He then launches into a convoluted tale of conspiracy involving Mohamed Atta, reported ringleader of the 9/11 hijackers, and the CIA.

Bush Directive for a “Catastrophic Emergency” in America: Building a Justification for Waging War on Iran?

“Another [9/11 type terrorist] attack could create both a justification and an opportunity that is lacking today to retaliate against some known targets” (Statement by Pentagon official, leaked to the Washington Post, 23 April 2006)

The US media consensus is that “the United States faces its greatest threat of a terrorist assault since the September 11 attacks” (USA Today, 12 February 2006) The American Homeland is threatened by ” Islamic terrorists”, allegedly supported by Tehran and Damascus.

America is under attack” by an illusive “outside enemy”.

Concepts are turned upside down. War becomes Peace. “Offense” becomes a legitimate means of “self-defense”. In the words of President Bush:

 

“Against this kind of enemy, there is only one effective response: We must go on the offense, stay on the offense, and take the fight to them.” (President George W. Bush, CENTCOM Coalition Conference, May 1, 2007)

The intent is to seek a pretext to wage a preemptive war.

A “terrorist attack on America” could be used to justify, in the eyes of an increasingly credulous public opinion, on “humanitarian grounds”, the launching of a major theater war directed against Iran and Syria.

Allegedly supported by Iran, the terrorists are said to possess nuclear capabilities. They are supposedly planning to explode “radiological dispersion devices” (RDD) or “dirty bombs” in densely populated urban areas in the US. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell had already forewarned in 2003 that, “It would be easy for terrorists to cook up radioactive ‘dirty’ bombs to explode inside the U.S. … How likely it is, I can’t say…” (10 February 2003).

The sheer absurdity that Al Qaeda might have advanced capabilities to wage a nuclear attack on America is, nonetheless, pervasive in US media reports. Moreover, numerous drills and exercises, simulating a terrorist attack using nuclear devices, have been conducted in recent years, creating the illusion that “the threat is real”:

“What we do know is that our enemies want to inflict massive casualties and that terrorists have the expertise to invent a wide range of attacks, including those involving the use of chemical, biological, radiological and even nuclear weapons. … [E]xploding a small nuclear weapon in a major city could do incalculable harm to hundreds of thousands of people, as well as to businesses and the economy,…(US Congress, House Financial Services Committee, June 21, 2007).

Librarians Describe Life Under An FBI Gag Order

Life in an FBI muzzle is no fun. Two Connecticut librarians on Sunday described what it was like to be slapped with an FBI national security letter and accompanying gag order. It sounded like a spy movie or, gulp, something that happens under a repressive foreign government. Peter Chase and Barbara Bailey, librarians in Plainville, Connecticut, received an NSL to turn over computer records in their library on July 13, 2005. Unlike a suspected thousands of other people around the country, Chase, Bailey and two of their colleagues stood up to the Man and refused to comply, convinced that the feds had no right to intrude on anyone’s privacy without a court order (NSLs don’t require a judge’s approval). That’s when things turned ugly.

Former EPA Boss Grilled on 9/11 Air Quality

Former EPA Chief Christine Todd Whitman faced fierce questioning in Washington Monday as she testified under oath about her declaration that the air was safe to breathe immediately following 9/11.

Whitman took the stand at the hearing, led by Manhattan Congressman Jerrold Nadler, to answer questions about the cleanup of the Trade Center site and on what she knew and when about the air quality in Lower Manhattan in the days and weeks following 9/11.

The former EPA head declared the air around the site to be safe to breathe just days after the attacks. But in the nearly six years since, independent government reports have been critical of the EPA’s handling of the clean up, and studies have shown that a staggering 70 percent of first responders now have some degree of respiratory problems, leading some on the panel to denounce the EPA and its former chief for negligence.

Whitman said her assurances that the air was safe to breathe in Lower Manhattan in the days after the attacks were based on scientific evidence.

Skeptics” or Dupes? Skeptic Magazine Not So Skeptical on 9/11 Lies

Skeptic Magazine has come out with a half-assed response to the 9/11 Truth Movement. They cite Popular Mechanics’ theories about the attacks, and not much else in their 9/11 Conspiracy Theories, the 9/11 Truth Movement in Perspective.

Someone should have told them that Professor David Ray Griffin has demolished the Popular Mechanics diatribe in his Debunking 9/11 Debunking: An Answer to Popular Mechanics and Other Defenders of the Official Conspiracy Theory.

Let’s forego all of that — pretend it never happened — and get to the accusations of the article.

But first, I just have to bring up a little definitional dispute. To the editors of “Skeptic” magazine: I am the skeptic here, not your writer Phil Molé. I am highly skeptical of the government’s account of the events of September 11th 2001, and with good reasons.

By attacking a “Truth” movement, you are attacking other skeptics, and you are dishonestly trying to portray them as a single unit and in a false light. You have attributed particular and specific “theories” to all of us, and then you pretended that we all adhere to these theories and so we are all easily debunked. This is a common and well-known tactic, quite despicable, and one that your magazine should not have succombed to.

The article in question spends a good deal of its time on the controlled demolition theory at the World Trade Center towers. My own 70 Disturbing Facts About the September 11th Attacks devotes one entry to this question.

You see, our case does not rest upon what happened after the planes struck that day. And, contrary to your writer’s claims, there is a lot of evidence which refutes the government account.

Additionally, although the Skeptic Magazine piece attempts to preach to us about the relevance of Al Qaeda:

“The best explanation for the events of 9/11 is that it was the latest and most damaging attack yet in a series of attacks by radical Islamic terrorists who wish to end what they believe is an evil U.S. foreign policy.”

… not one “hijacker” is named in this piece, nor is any attempt made at all to link any alleged hijacker to the crime.

Quite an accomodating — as opposed to skeptical — view of the official theory. Poor form and a poorly thought out piece. Honest readers will find the entire article quite accomodating to the official government theory of the 9/11 attacks.

The 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund: Cui Bono?

Thursday, June 14 — I’m taking notes in Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein’s spacious courtroom atop the Daniel Patrick Moynihan United States Courthouse at 500 Pearl Street in New York. This as lawyers from United Air Lines, American Airlines, Boeing Corporation, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, World Trade Center Properties, et al, make a motion for a determination of applicable law and for dismissal of all punitive damage claims as well as certain government discovery in the 9/11 damage suits.

The fleet of high-priced lawyers fills half the paneled courtroom. A packed gallery fills the other half. Among the corporate legal fleet are a smaller number of lawyers for the remaining plaintiffs who did not take the 9/11 Victim Compensation money. One of plaintiffs’ lawyers, Greg Joseph, is noted to say, “Any trial is a good trial.”

The corporate lawyers parry and thrust in legalese with Judge Hellerstein. They seem to admire their own wit, deferring to his, his quips, assertions of power, interruptions and anecdotes. A certain sense of gravity seems lacking as the sad gray sky fills the huge windows, just a handful of blocks from the perished towers and their lost lives, which is what this is supposed to be about if I’m not mistaken.

Eligibility for the Victim Compensation Fund required victims’ “physical harm or death” as a result of one of the crashes, or being the personal representative of a deceased victim. But the hook, the big quid pro quo is the waiver of a claimant’s right to file suit if he or she filed for fund money. The moment he or she submitted an application for fund money, he or she could forget about a suit against the airlines or the government.

New 9/11 Study Has Direct Links To Government, Pentagon Black Ops

A newly released Purdue University animation showing how fire caused the collapse of the World Trade Center towers on 9/11 claims to be independent but in reality has been federally funded and was conducted by individuals with direct links to the Pentagon and the White House.Earlier this week we covered the news that the new study roughly correlates with the findings of the 2005 National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) report and supports the official line that the airplanes stripped away crucial fireproofing material and that the weakened towers collapsed under their own weight.

While the New York Times today lauds the study as “a counterpoint to the conspiracy theories promulgated by such outspoken figures as Rosie O’Donnell”, Prisonplanet.com has actually done some research into the origins of the study.

In addition to the inerrant flaws and conflicts we pointed out in our previous article, it has now come to light that the so called “independent” structural engineers behind the study are anything but.

The Study was funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), a federal agency created by Congress in 1950 “to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense…”.

The Silence of Henry Waxman

And so it was, that in November, 2006, the American people cried for change and reform, an end to the quagmire in Iraq, as well as to the open and crass corruption of Dennis Hastert, Tom Delay and their fellow Congressional Republicans. The Democrats were swept into power on a wave of disgust at the decadence and decay that had enveloped D.C., taking back both Houses of Congress in one fell swoop. A revolution, it seemed, had begun. The good guys were in charge now.

Thus, one could not blame prominent FBI whistleblower Sibel Edmonds, who served as a Turkish language specialist from 2001-2002, for feeling a surge of optimism after the Democratic sweep. After all, it was the Bush Administration and Republicans in Congress who had done everything in their power to suppress her case, which revealed high-level U.S. Neoconservatives acting as Turkish spies (amongst other illegal activities.) And it was the Democrats that assured Ms. Edmonds behind the scenes from 2002 to 2005 that once they took over, she would have the full, open hearings she had been pushing for. Furthermore, the buzz on the Democratic blogs was that, since Henry Waxman was going to be in charge of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, all the buried scandals of the Bush years would now finally be uncovered. Surely Ms. Edmonds had reasons to feel the tide was turning.

CIA letter supports assertion that OBL “confession video” was a sting operationby Ed Haas

June 11, 2007 – How many times has the now infamous Osama bin Laden “confession video” played in the corporate media after its release on December 13, 2001? How many newspapers carried the story of Osama bin Laden, confessing to his prior knowledge of the 9/11 attacks, in their December 14, 2001 editions? How about worldwide? Combined, how many television stations, radio broadcasts, and newspapers do you think ran segments and stories about the content of this video?

Considering the number of television and radio news media outlets globally, coupled with the fact that many of the television news stations in the United States played portions of this video every 15 minutes for weeks after its release, and it can be safely estimated that this “confession video” has played millions of times since its release nearly six years ago. It can also be accepted as fact that the story of the “confession tape” was deemed fit for print repeatedly in every newspaper and news magazine in the United States and nearly every other similar type of publication worldwide.

Without a doubt, exposure to the “confession video” has reached every civilized corner of the earth in which a press can be found. Millions of times hundreds of millions of people saw, heard, or read about the video. On December 13, 2001 the video was not a secret anymore. With its sheer volume of exposure, there should be no secrets about it. Yet, to this day, documentation related to the discovery of the video and its authenticity is being guarded by elements of the U.S. government under the veil of in the interest of national defense or foreign policy. The U.S. government claims that the documentation surrounding the videotape is a matter of national security – and therefore secret. What could possibly be the secret surrounding the videotape?

As for myself, I am leaving the Democratic Party. You have completely failed those who put you in power to change the direction our country is heading. We do not condone our government’s violent meddling in sovereign countries and we condemn the continued murderous occupation of Iraq.”

We are convening to explore what to do next? What are we missing, and what can we do better? How do we release the war machine’s stranglehold around us?

In the living tradition of the Declaration of Independence, we convene to form a strategic alliance with anti-war, pro-impeachment, civil liberties, and other groups to develop a comprehensive strategy and implement actions to deal with this emergency.
