Tyrants make themselves out to be fearless and all-powerful.

But they are really cowards.

For example:

• Virtually all of the neocon warmongers are chickenhawks who dodged service to their country

• When the mother of a dead soldier showed up at Bush’s ranch, he was too cowardly to even meet her

• Current Attorney General Mukasey – who is stomping on the rule of law and trying to prop up dictatorship as fast as he can – literally collapsed when a judge called him a “tyrant” at a public event

• Former AG Alberto Gonzales – who did the same as Mukasey – whines that he can’t find a job: “for some reason, I am portrayed as the one who is evil in formulating policies that people disagree with. I consider myself a casualty, one of the many casualties of the war on terror.”

• Hank Paulson – the financial dictator who unilaterally has decided who who is getting trillions in government bailouts, refuses to disclose the names to anyone (including to the Congressional oversight committee for the bailout or in response to media lawsuits), and who arbitrarily changed laws without the consent of Congress – is crying about not having enough tools to work with

• Mastermind of many nefarious crimes Karl Rove snivels that Bush-haters were responsible for ruining Bush’s reputation

• Former Navy Judge Advocate General Admiral John Hutson said of the Bush torture program: “Torture is the technique of choice of the . . . pseudo-tough.”

As R. Eddington wrote:

When I was a young boy, I was always taught “scratch a bully, find a coward”. And here we have not one but two cowards at the head of the current administration. One of which – when it was his turn to offer his military service to his country – ran and hid in the Texas Air National Guard (complete military records NOT available upon asking!) and another who got at least FIVE deferments so he wouldn’t have to bring his sorry behind to Vietnam.

Scratch a tyrant, find a coward.

On the other hand, real men stand up to tyrants.

Debunking NIST’s conclusions about WTC 7 is as easy as shooting fish in a barrel.

Symmetrical Collapse

NIST lamely tried to explain the symmetrically collapse as follows:

WTC 7’s collapse, viewed from the exterior (most videos were taken from the north), did appear to fall almost uniformly as a single unit. This occurred because the interior failures that took place did not cause the exterior framing to fail until the final stages of the building collapse. The interior floor framing and columns collapsed downward and pulled away from the exterior frame. There were clues that internal damage was taking place, prior to the downward movement of the exterior frame, such as when the east penthouse fell downward into the building and windows broke out on the north face at the ends of the building core. The symmetric appearance of the downward fall of the WTC 7 was primarily due to the greater stiffness and strength of its exterior frame relative to the interior framing.

NIST can’t have it both ways. If the exterior frame was so stiff and strong, then it should have stopped the collapse, or – at the very least – we would have seen a bowing effect where tremendous opposing forces were battling each other for dominance in determining the direction of the fall. In real life, the thick structural beams and “stiff [and strong]” exterior frame used in the building should have quickly stopped any partial collapse, unless the support columns were all blown. At the very worst, we should see a 1 or 2 floor partial collapse.

Freefall Speed

NIST said that WTC 7 fell at 40% slower than freefall speed. But it collapsed alot faster than it would have if the structural supports were not all blown away at the same instant. 40% slower isn’t very impressive — that’s like arguing that a rock falling through concrete 40% slower than a rock falling through the air is perfectly normal.

Again, why did the building collapse at all, given that the thick structural beams should have quickly stopped any partial collapse?

Fires Knocked Down Steel-Frame Buildings

NIST said fires alone brought down Building 7, but other office fires have burned longer and hotter without causing collapse.

Government Apologists Keep Moving the Goal Posts

The people defending the government’s version of 9/11 have continuously moved the goal posts:

• Initially, the government apologists pretended that everyone believed the “official story” of 9/11

• Then, when the family members of the victims and everyday Americans started to publicly question the government’s story, they said “but, all of the experts confirm the government”

• Then, when hundreds of top experts in relevant fields – military officials, intelligence officers, physicists, chemists, mathematicians, air traffic controllers, etc. – publicly questioned the government’s story, they said “well, no structural engineers question 9/11″

• Then, when numerous structural engineers decided to risk their careers to question the official version of events, they said “yeah, but no criticism of the government’s claims has been published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal“

• Then, when papers began to be published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, they scrambled with new arguments . . .

They keep moving the goal posts, which is a sign of dishonesty. Its the old bait-and-switch … come up with one argument, and when it is shot down as false, make up a new one.

Indeed, if Bush, Cheney, and Rummie all confessed under oath that they carried out 9/11, the defenders of the official version would probably try to move the goal posts yet again:

“true, but no one checked to see if they had their fingers crossed behind their backs at the time.

And they’ve been under alot of stress recently. Maybe they’ve suffered from short-term memory loss.

And you don’t have any video actually showing them ordering the stand down, do you?! Why should we believe you if you don’t have video of them doing it?!”

If you have questioned 9/11 for a couple of years, you’ll know that the above-described history of goalpost-moving is accurate. If you haven’t, google around and you’ll probably see what I mean. -GW
