Donna Marsh O’Connor, mother of 9/11 victim Vanessa Lang Langer, recently posted an “idea” at change.org, “which was then promoted at both 911truth.org and 911blogger” for America to have a new investigation into the attacks of 9/11. Unfortunately, Donna’s “idea” never picked up steam.

However, on 11/28/2008, Debora Blake posted a similar “idea” at change.org, and for whatever reason, that entry “took off.” Within 2 days, the “idea” for a new investigation into 9/11 was #1 on the entire site with 660 votes. The #2 entry, “Pass the DREAM Act Now!,” posted on 11/24/2008, only has 347 votes.

They have since deleted every “idea” calling for a new investigation into 9/11, including the #1 entry. Here is the email I just received from change.org:

Hello Jon,

We wanted to send you a note about an idea you recently voted on in the Ideas for Change in America competition titled “Conduct a new, independent investigation into the attacks of September 11, 2001″

We support calls for truth and transparency in our government on every subject and welcome you to directly petition the new administration about this matter, which you can do at http://change.gov/page/s/ofthepeople. However, this is unfortunately outside the scope of the Ideas for Change in America project, which aims to offer specific policy solutions rather than investigations into past government action. As such, it is not eligible to enter the second round of the competition.

We understand that good people may disagree with our vision. But this is a private effort not connected to the Obama campaign or transition team, and we reserve the right to keep the competition and its content aligned with the stated mission and overall spirit of the project.

Thank you for your understanding. As mentioned above, we welcome you to directly petition the Obama administration about your proposal at http://change.gov/page/s/ofthepeople. And we hope you continue your work to advance change.

Through Obama’s entire campaign, he promised “change.” If organizations like change.org are an “idea” of what’s to come, then those people fearing Obama’s message was just rhetoric for political purposes, are probably right.

The planning of the recent Mumbai “terrorist attacks” are said to have originated in Pakistan. There are allegations that Pakistan was involved in the 9/11 attacks as well. Since 9/11, Pakistan has been considered to be an ally, or partner in the “War On Terror.” Why would the U.S. become an ally with, and reward a country that was allegedly involved in the 9/11 attacks? Wasn’t it Bush who said, “we will make no distinction between those who committed these acts and those who harbor them?” Could it be because during the Bush Administration, Pakistan policy was “essentially being run from Cheney’s office?”

Recently, someone considered to be an associate of the 9/11 Truth Movement murdered their father. Long time 9/11 Truth Activist Michael Wolsey recently had him on as a guest of his show, Visibility 9-11, because he thought he was in trouble, and he wanted to help him out.

Obviously, Michael Wolsey would not have helped him if he knew what he was going to do. Obviously, Michael Wolsey would not have had him on as a guest if he knew what he was going to do. Michael Wolsey has done a TREMENDOUS amount of good for this movement, and the fact that Sean Fitzgerald murdered his father should NOT “disqualify” those efforts. Michael is a good man.

My sympathies to the Fitzgerald family.

How many times have you seen someone try to compare this movement to “Holocaust Revisionists” (Holocaust Deniers)? I’ve seen it too many times to count.

One of the main things “Holocaust Revisionists” focus on are the amount of Jews murdered by the Nazis.

None of us deny that 2,973 people were brutally murdered on 9/11. We deny the bogus story we were told about how and why it happened.

To me, “Holocaust Revisionists” are trying to rationalize, justify, protect, and defend the policies of the Nazi Regime.

The individuals that try and connect the 9/11 Truth Movement with “Holocaust Deniers” are essentially trying to rationalize, justify, protect, and defend the polices of the Bush Regime.

Sound familiar?

If I were to compare the 9/11 Truth Movement to anything, it would be to the White Rose.

According to Wikipedia, the White Rose “was a non-violent resistance group in Nazi Germany, consisting of a number of students from the University of Munich and their philosophy professor. The group became known for an anonymous leaflet campaign, lasting from June 1942 until February 1943, that called for active opposition to German dictator Adolf Hitler’s regime.” [...] “Today, the members of the White Rose are honoured in Germany as some of its greatest heroes because they opposed the Third Reich in the face of almost certain death.”

Five years ago tomorrow the 9/11 Visibility Project began, in Kansas City and Seattle, holding weekly vigils asking America to support the 9/11 Families in their efforts to demand an investigation of the events of 9/11. For the next 18 months, Kansas City was in the streets every single weekend with signs, flyers, outrage, and courage as we watched the families’ success in forcing the creation of the Commission turn to deception upon deception. City after city began to join us, the Eleventh of Every Month campaign kicked off with monthly actions, groups like Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, Lawyers for 9/11 Truth, Firefighters for 9/11 Truth, We Are Change, and so many others came to life. As we came to realize we were never really going to “reform” the media, we became the media instead, through radio shows, independent newspapers, public access tv productions, dvd, book, and flyer creation, and perhaps most importantly, person to person communication of real truths their corporate media was not telling them.

We have succeeded much more than we usually recognize. In spite of our government “catapulting the propaganda” and their media minions continuing to assist in making sure the lies are disseminated thoroughly, we know (through our last national Zogby poll) that a majority of Americans do not believe the government propaganda narrative of 9/11. We are rejecting, as a people, the fear mongering hatred continuously heaved upon us. We’re asking, “What role do I play in this? If this is being done in MY name, what responsibility do I have to stop the carnage?” And in answer, we the people are overwhelmingly seeing with new eyes the real state of the union. And of the world. And we will NOT be silent.

For these five-plus years, I have had the great honor to come to know hundreds, and indirectly thousands, of compassionate, dedicated, courageous people around this world. For each of you, I am truly grateful. Each of us has brought to this movement different gifts. Some have been able to monetarily support the cause, others are able to use what little they have to get in the streets. We have used our skills to produce materials the rest of us can distribute, facilitated the creation of groups, given speeches and presentations around the world, written books and articles… And for all of us, talking to friends, coworkers, strangers has been the core. We are truly a grassroots movement. People everywhere doing what they can, looking to see what must be done and taking it upon themselves to do it, not waiting for some “great leader” to tell us what to do, or promise us the moon… WE are what we’ve been waiting for, and WE are not waiting any longer! WE are millions, WE are everywhere, and WE have great power!

We must stand strong now, stronger than ever, more visibly than ever, joining with everyone who is genuinely* fighting back–whether or not we agree with their ideology, their specific issues, their general beliefs, their organizational structure–in order to “catapult the truth” in a way that empowers more of the People to stand up with us. The world sees us. The world knows the crimes being committed in our name do NOT reflect the values and heart of we, the People. But we must not back down, in spite of promises of change. We must stand strong until we see real, lasting change has been truly created and implemented. Now is the time for real resistance, not complacence!

So to each of you, I genuinely extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation, and my honor for your awesome courage, persistence, and compassion in the face of great repression. We are an amazing movement, made up of amazing people, with amazing power. Thank you!

The debate took place on Monday, November 24th, 2008 on the Franklin Pierce University closed circuit television show, The Dynamic Duo and was moderated by the show’s hosts Justin Martell and Eric Jackman.

The only editing that has been done to the three segments is all references to commercials have been removed (to make the conversation continuous), along with the opening and closing credits. The content of the debate has not been altered in any way.

Despite the hopes of many human-rights advocates, the new Obama Justice Department is not likely to launch major new criminal probes of harsh interrogations and other alleged abuses by the Bush administration. But one idea that has currency among some top Obama advisers is setting up a 9/11-style commission that would investigate counterterrorism policies and make public as many details as possible. “At a minimum, the American people have to be able to see and judge what happened,” said one senior adviser, who asked not to be identified talking about policy matters. The commission would be empowered to order the U.S. intelligence agencies to open their files for review and question senior officials who approved “waterboarding” and other controversial practices.

Obama aides are wary of taking any steps that would smack of political retribution. That’s one reason they are reluctant to see high-profile investigations by the Democratic-controlled Congress or to greenlight a broad Justice inquiry (absent specific new evidence of wrongdoing). “If there was any effort to have war-crimes prosecutions of the Bush administration, you’d instantly destroy whatever hopes you have of bipartisanship,” said Robert Litt, a former Justice criminal division chief during the Clinton administration. A new commission, on the other hand, could emulate the bipartisan tone set by Tom Kean and Lee Hamilton in investigating the 9/11 attacks. The 9/11 panel was created by Congress. An alternative model, floated by human-rights lawyer Scott Horton, would be a presidential commission similar to the one appointed by Gerald Ford in 1975 and headed by Nelson Rockefeller that investigated cold-war abuses by the CIA.

The idea of such panels is not universally favored among Obama advisers. Some with ties to the intelligence community fear the demoralizing impact on intelligence officers, said one source who had discussions with Obama aides about the idea. But during the campaign, both Obama and Eric Holder, slated to be nominated as attorney general, sharply criticized the use of torture and the legal rulings that permitted them. Holder called some Bush counterterror policies “excessive and unlawful.”

The legal rulings on interrogation are among matters being reviewed by an Obama transition team headed by David W. Ogden, once chief of staff to former attorney general Janet Reno. The team has already moved into the first floor of Justice. Detainee policies are an even stickier issue—underscored last week when a federal judge ordered the release of five Bosnians held at Guantánamo Bay. Obama is committed to shutting down Gitmo. But his advisers are wrestling with what to do about the remaining 250 detainees there, especially those considered dangerous. Obama is unlikely to continue the military tribunals started by President Bush. One idea his advisers are exploring is the creation of new national-security courts. But a spokesman for Obama’s transition team said that decisions on all of these issues won’t be made till after the new national-security team is in place.

The first question is whether the Administration misused the classification process to withhold, for political reasons, official 9/11 Commission staff findings detailing how federal aviation officials received multiple intelligence reports warning of airline hijackings and suicide attacks before September 11. The second question relates to the veracity of statements, briefings, and testimony by then-National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice regarding this issue.

No book in memory has stirred greater anticipatory frenzy than The 9/11 Commission Report—or more universal acclaim at its appearance in July. Before it was out, news and interview shows were welcoming the Commissioners whose labor had produced it. CNN ran film footage of copies tumbling off printer-plant conveyor belts. Stores reported overnight sellouts of their orders. Officialdom, Republicans and Democrats, spoke of the work as magisterial. David Brooks hailed its “moral aura” on PBS’s NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. The President himself—at one time he not only had declined an invitation to answer the Commission’s questions but had opposed the Commission’s creation—praised the work as “very constructive,” and he and the Vice President commenced citing it in speeches; so did John Kerry. By mid-August, 630,000 copies, priced to move at $10, had been sold.
